The Ultimate RV Route 66 Casino Road Trip

Are you ready for a Route 66 road trip like no other in your RV? Then why not throw in some of the best casinos along the way and add some real action?

Whilst there are plenty of reasons to stay at home in the UK and give the games a spin… you can dress how you like, claim a UK casino bonus and even play with free money – but that couldn’t compare to the feeling you’d get when you head to the States hop in an RV, hit the road and visit some of the top casinos in the US – on the most iconic road in the world…

Starting Point: Chicago, Illinois

You’ll start off in Chicago – the eastern terminus of Route 66. Before you hit the road, you can stop at Rivers Casino Des Plaines, just a short drive from downtown. With more than 1,000 slot machines, lots of table games and exceptional dining options – it’s the perfect start.

Our RV Tip: Use one of the nearby RV parks like Camp Bullfrog Lake.

St. Louis, Missouri

Your next stop will be St. Louis – which is home to the River City Casino & Hotel, a stylish casino with perfect views of the Mississippi River. Aside from the variety of games, make sure you don’t miss the iconic Gateway Arch before you head over to the casino.

Our RV Tip: Stay at the St. Louis RV Park, which has a great central location.

Springfield, Missouri

This place is known as the birthplace of Route 66 – and it offers a more nostalgic slice of Americana… as well as serious gaming excitement at Downstream Casino Resort. Although it’s technically located just across the border in Oklahoma, in our opinion, with its top games and gorgeous food options, it’s worth a small detour.

Our RV Tip: The casino offers dedicated RV parking, so it’s perfect for roadtrippers.

Tulsa, Oklahoma

As you make your way through Oklahoma, head to Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa, which adds a rock-and-roll theme to your casino experience. From incredible slot machines to poker tournaments and live music, this will be one you’ll remember. While you’re there, make sure you explore Tulsa’s Route 66 attractions – like the Blue Dome District and the Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza.

Our RV Tip: There are several RV parks, including Mingo RV Park, making the casino easy to access.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Continue west to Oklahoma City, where you’ll find the Riverwind Casino, one of the state’s biggest casinos. With over 2,800 slots and electronic games and lots of table games, it’s a gamer’s paradise.

While you’re there, be sure to visit the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum for a bit of culture.

Our RV Tip: Twin Fountains RV Resort has excellent amenities and is close to the city’s main attractions.

Amarillo, Texas

While Amarillo itself might not have a major casino, there are a few nearby tribal gaming sites – like the Lucky Star Casino which offer plenty of options for gamblers. Don’t forget to also make a stop at the Cadillac Ranch – a legendary Route 66 art installation.

Our RV Tip: The Amarillo KOA Journey is the perfect place for you to park your RV and recharge.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

This one may well be the whole highlight of your trip. Stop by Sandia Resort & Casino, set against the Sandia Mountains and enjoy stunning views, a top-class casino, and even a luxurious spa.

If you get some spare time, take a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway for some of the area’s most beautiful views.

Our RV Tip: The casino has its own RV parking – but there are more campgrounds nearby if you want to stay for a while.

Flagstaff, Arizona

As you get to the Grand Canyon State, take the time to stop in Flagstaff. Just a short drive away you’ll find Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort – where you can enjoy slots, table games, and seriously tasty Navajo-inspired cuisine.

Whilst there, it’d be a sin not to check out the Meteor Crater or take a detour to the Grand Canyon.

Our RV Tip: The casino has RV parking, and there are nearby campgrounds that offer full amenities if you’re staying on.

Final Stop: Las Vegas, Nevada or Santa Monica, California

Although Route 66 ends in Santa Monica, you may want to  detour to Las Vegas for the big casino grand finale… the Entertainment Capital of the World – where you can finish off at the world-renowned Bellagio.

If you do stick to Santa Monica, you can just enjoy the beach, pier, and the famously historic end of Route 66.

Our RV Tip: Both options offer lots of RV parks with excellent facilities.

So – are you ready for the casino trip of a lifetime? Get ready to pack up your RV and go!
