I called the casino a few days before heading out and were told that overnight parking was allowed. The lot is right off Perry Street and before your cross the small bridge to the casino. This was our first night of staying at casino and we will certainly do it again. The stop was right off I90 and there was plenty of space in the parking lot for us. We joined about 5 other units that were there for the evening. We were parked near a shuttle stop, but did not visit the casino. We had arrived later than expected and had a tire issue about 13 miles from the casino. Instead of visiting the casino in the morning for breakfast as planned, we were looking for a repair shop for the tire. I would highly recommend Erie General Tire.

We live in AZ but travel to PA at least once a yr. This is one of our favorite stops, especially during race season. Plenty of room for a big rig. Shuttle service to the Casino/Racetrack is continuous and convenient. Several others have mentioned the "Grass Strips". Be careful during wet/rainy weather as there are a few RVrs that are real scumbags and have dumped tanks in that grass. There is a TA, with a dump station ($), a few miles away, East on I-90.
Erie is a very historic town and has a lot to see and do. If you are there, when they are in the harbor, don't miss the "Tall Ships"

Easy access from I-90. Several RV's were parked along grass strips between parking areas. Fairly level areas so you should be able to pick and choose, otherwise you may need a level on one side. Shuttles passed through lot frequently, stopping at covered bus shelters located throughout parking area. Casino was nice, not too small, not large. We had a decent time.

For a safe, quiet spot to overnight for free, Presque Isle Downs is pretty darn good. Just off I-90, there is nice, straightforward access into a spacious, level parking area. We didn’t notice any designated area for oversize vehicles. We parked in the big lot near the entrance. There was no registration.
Do NOT cross the little bridge to try to park closer to the casino and racetrack: there is nothing for you there. Across the bridge lies valet parking and a tight parking lot where it's hard to maneuver. The walk to the casino from the front lot can be done. It takes a little longer than I like, but there are also shuttles.
Security came through the lot occasionally and it felt safe to us. There were some small grassy areas, adequate for basic dog-walking if a little small to really let him romp.
The casino itself is small to mid-size. Slot machines and table games, and the race track of course. Some very basic food choices on the casino level. If you go to the second level on the race track side of the casino there is a nice bar/lounge where you can have a sit-down meal. All the casino personnel we met were very friendly.

Stayed there two nights last year. There is a huge parking lot with nice bus shelters dispersed throughout the lot for shuttles to the casino ( although it's not far to walk). RVs are mostly parked at the far end of the lot. There are frequent security patrols throughout the night. No need to register.
The casino is average. Will return for a night next week.
